Many of us feel the overwhelm of life and having too much to do and not enough time. But, if we manage our time well and invest in planning mindset we can free ourselves the overwhelming feeling of not having enough time. Planners, whether digital or physical, are a great way to do this. Here are a few reasons why. This list is not exhaustive but I hope it helps you think about your time in a different way.

Have ONE place to write everything down. When you capture all thoughts and to-do items in one place, you can write it, plan it, and "forget" about it. This is called a brain dump. You can do brain dumps in list form or journal form. Science shows that once we write it down we are free to move on to other tasks.

YOU REMEMBER THINGS BETTER

We all forget things so writing them down elminates error, missing meeings, and  forgetting to do things. Did you know that writing things down actually helps you memorize your tasks? It stimulates brain cells to increase focus. After you write something down your brain is called to action to focus on the item.  "There are many studies proving that and one by the Dominican University of California found that people who wrote down their goals, shared them with others, and maintained accountability for their goals were 33% more likely to achieve them, versus those who just formulated goals in their head. YOU ARE LESS DISTRACTED

Free yourself of distracting notifications. Once an item is written down and planned into your day you can focus on the priorities that you have set for yourself. You may want to incorporate time-blocking activities for the most effeciency and least distraction.

PRIORITIZATION

Once you've done your brain dump of activiies and ideas you can better sort them into your top 3 priorities, the next 3 priorities, and the things that can be moved to another day. Working on your top 3 priortities eliminates the stress of having to "get it all done" and frees you to focus on that task. Oh yeah, and that makes your more effecient!

THERE IS TIME FOR SELF CARE

Whether you work out, meditate, pray, or stop and spend time with a pet, these activities are vital to our overall health. Plan these important activites in your schedule so you don't miss them. You may need to start with a 15 minute goal and increase from there.

ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS

Making goals and planning them helps us to stay accountable. Start with a main goal and plan step-by-step how to achieve a goal. Having the steps broken down makes them more doable. Achieving goals gives a sense of satisfaction and movivates us to continue.
